(YES I KNOW THIS ISN'T BOOK CLUB, BUT IT'S WHERE THE FORUM ALLOWED ME TO POST. IT'S SORT OF RELATED.)
After enjoying our memorial viewing of Sense & Sensibility very much, Moody and I have decided to start holding Period Drama Fridays on rabb.it. People are welcome to join us, but if you want to, do give us a nudge beforehand so we can be sure we start at an appropriate time (since we're both west coast night owls, and might start horribly late if left to our own devices).
Suggestions for what to watch are also welcome! We're pretty going on the definition of 'period drama' (we'll also take 'period comedy,' but those are rarer); we're mostly looking for something set in a bygone era, preferably with pretty clothes (and pretty men. Look, we're allowed to be shallow). Movies are easiest to fit in; we're open to mini-series and series, but they'll likely take several weeks. The big restriction is that, for rabb.it to work, they must be available on streaming service someone has access to (and gets along with rabb.it).
This week (Jan 22nd), we're watching one of our all-time favourites: the 1995 version of Persuasion, the one with Ciaran Hinds and Amanda Root.
